Centennial Courtyard
In commemoration of West Side's Centennial, our congregation has
expressed a desire to give a gift to future generations. We want to
complete existing plans to include a garden and gathering place
between the library and chapel. This will be a place for prayer,
gatherings, wedding receptions and barbeques that everyone will
enjoy. As the trees in front of the sanctuary symbolize our
centennial celebration, it is fitting to employ the idea of a garden
courtyard to improve the aesthetics of the outside of the building
and to commemorate for future generations a gift celebrating this
important event in the life of this congregation.

Centennial Courtyard (pdf).
This initial design will cost about $66,000, and incorporate trees,
shrubbery, landscaping, and benches. A low wall and gate provide
privacy from the street, but don't cut us off entirely from our
community.
Each of us has the opportunity to contribute to this gift through
the year-end giving opportunities and a fund-raising campaign that
will run through our Centennial Celebration in March. The final
design and scope of the courtyard will depend on funds received,
with an anticipated total cost of $66,000. If each family unit gives
$200, we can complete the dreams and plans of the Connections
campaign. Consider how you and your family can participate in this
gift as you reflect on the heritage of those who gave so much to
keep West Side going for 100 years and on what legacy we want to
leave for future generations.
