To instill in the youth of WSPC a desire to seek and know God as their
personal Lord and Savior. To encourage them to live their lives for Him daily
through prayer, the reading of His word, and service to others; and to equip
them to share their knowledge of God with their friends.
Qualifications for the Minister to Youth
An obvious love for Jesus Christ and for students.
A strong, contagious personal faith in Jesus Christ.
A commitment to meditate on God’s word daily.
A sound biblical theology consistent with reformed theology.
Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
Relevant experience in youth ministry, issues and youth culture.
A commitment to maintain a stable personal life with strong,
healthy relationships.
A commitment to work as Minister to Youth at WSPC for at least
three years.
Possesses a college degree (4-year degree preferred).
Job Description
Continue personal spiritual growth.
Develop personal relationships with the youth.
Introduce students to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Recruit, equip and encourage youth ministry team members and
leaders.
Build a community in which students have a sense of ownership and
want to participate.
Develop student leadership.
Proclaim the Gospel and training students to share the Gospel with
peers.
Initiate and plan youth ministry activities into an integrated
ministry plan.
Coordinate youth ministry efforts at WSPC including weekly,
monthly and annual events.
Promote unity and cooperation among other ministries in the
church, para-church student ministries, other area Presbyterian
churches, and secular community organizations.
The salary for this full-time position will be negotiated. Compensation
depends on a variety of factors, including experience, education, etc. The
salary range for the position is $33K - $43K plus full benefits.
