March 2006

After a three-year vision process to explore new possibilities for
future ministries, we are surprised and delighted with the direction God is
leading us. After evaluating a full range of suggestions about new ministry
options, we discovered that the majority of ideas could be accommodated in our
present building. We asked leaders from all our various ministries to determine
how our facility might better meet everyone’s needs. Learn more about the

invited to a special meeting where we will be sharing a vision for
ministry and outlining a plan for a capital stewardship campaign, as
well as listening to your questions, hopes and dreams for the future
of West Side Presbyterian Church. We surely hope you can all be
there as we continue to seek the Lord's face and equip ourselves to
do His will.

To the West Side Presbyterian Church Congregation -
At the annual congregation
meeting on May 21, 2004 the Property Vision Committee presented
their recommendations for church renovations and the use of the
south property. A summary of that presentation and proposal is
attached. You are invited to a followup discussion in Howell
Auditorium on June 2, at 7:30 pm.
The committee will present a short review of our recommendations and
then be available to answer questions. The drawing of the proposed
changes will be posted for everyone to review.
If we proceed this will be a major financial commitment of up to
$1,000,000 by the congregation. Therefore we want to give everyone
an opportunity to respond. Our goal is to obtain an informed
response from the congregation about our proposal. A response form
is attached. After reviewing the proposal please return your
response form to the church office by Sunday June 20, 2004. A box
will be placed at the information center.

South Property

PROPERTY PURCHASE UPDATE - In April 2002, the West Side
Congregation committed $330,000 over two years for the purchase of
the property south of the church. As of April 30, 2004 $300,800 has
been collected and there is $29,200 left to pay. There are
outstanding pledges to cover the remaining amount. We praise God's
abundance, His confirmation of our purchase commitment and the
congregation's generosity.
6-15-03. Session voted in May to pay off the Washington
Mutual Property Loan by borrowing money from West Side's Designated
Funds. Session approved this action because financially it is wiser
to pay off a loan with an interest rate of 4.5% than to receive
interest on that same money at the rate of 0.9%. Furthermore, this
action was taken with the full understanding and commitment that we
pay back ourselves (i.e. the Designated Funds) before we commit to
the construction of any new building. We are grateful for all the
gifts received thus far and would ask that you prayerfully consider
your financial ability in helping us to repay this money. Thank you
in advance for your continued commitment in acquiring this new asset
for West Side's future.
MISSION VISION REVISION - If you missed your opportunity
to give us your input on your ideas for the use of the property to
the south of us, we are extending the invitation for you to
participate. You can pick up a form in the office and return it
any time before July 9 (2002). If you have any questions, please call
Ed Snyder.
MISSION VISION - Start thinking about what you would like
done with the property that West Side purchased on May 3, 2002. On
Friday, June 21 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, June
22 from 10-noon in Howell Auditorium we on the Vision Committee
invite you to come and share your thoughts. So let your imagination
and faith soar and plan to be there!
