Keith and Celia Olson

Keith and Celia work in Japan with OMF International. They are located in Ishikari, a small city next-door to Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido. Japan is a difficult field for Christian missions, where less than 1% are Christian. They serve the Satsunae Lighthouse Church as well as support four other small churches through preaching, collaboration and hosting short-termers for them. Keith teaches Isaiah at the Hokkaido Bible Institute. Training pastors, laypeople and seekers in exegesis and Bible study methods is a passion and objective for him.
Celia, a concert cellist, continues her outreach concert activities. She attends tea ceremony lessons each week. Tea ceremony activities have been helpful in making friends and learning a symbolic and artistic language which connects with the hearts of many Japanese people. The purposes of her endeavors are personal evangelism, empowering Christian artists, developing community among artists and art-lovers and supporting churches in their outreach efforts.
